Reference: 9th Pay Commission Report
Sir,
We have studied the 9th Pay Commission Report and it is found that many scales have better hike. The commission report says that much consideration is given for teachers. But we would like to bring to your kind notice that consideration is not at all given to teachers of Higher Secondary Schools.
Previously, Higher Secondary was part of Colleges as Pre Degree Course. Since the students of the age group 16 to 18 need more care Pre Degree was delimited and the course was brought to school level. The Honourable Government had made Special Rules for implementing the Higher Secondary Course at School Level as a separate wing. The qualifications required for teachers are as follows.
* Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject
* B.Ed. in the concerned subject
* A Pass in the State Eligibility Test (SET) in the subject conducted by the State Government or National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or M.Ed or M.Phil or Ph.D
The posts for which the highest educational qualification required are of HSST and HSST Juniors. At least 50% mark is required in PG even to write the PSC Examination.
A higher Secondary School Principal has to take 21 periods per week in addition to the administrative works. Since posts such as Clerk, Peon, Menial are not sanctioned for Higher Secondary Schools, such works are also done by the teachers themselves to help the Principal on Humanitarian Consideration, by claiming no extra remuneration. Considering all these matters, the 8th Pay Commission had provided us with a better Pay Scale.
We would like to bring the following information for your kind observation. It is extracted from the 9th Pay Revision Commission Report.
